Apologies again for March being a wash due to my move. Since I realistically knew that nothing was going to get done I skipped right ahead to April. So, without further ado, here is the forecast for the month of April. Remember folks, it’s not only a Mercury retrograde period (April 7th-30th) but also an eclipse (April 19th). The latter is pretty mild because it’s only a solar. But it’s in passionate Aries so the key words for this new four month cycle will be: initiative, leadership, passion and good friendship. As always, my horoscopes are sidereal so check your birthdate for your forecast.
(January 15th-February 12th)
Last month’s new moon ensured that you were a chatterbox, cocktail party maestro or just plain genius. In April, this sensibility is guaranteed to open up a whole new world for you. But since mercury is retrograde this month, expect most of it to come from your old world (i.e. people you’ve already met, projects you’ve already worked on, places you’ve already been). There’s nothing wrong with seeing the past through a new lens. An eclipse in your fifth house on the 19th promises to usher in a new cycle (expanding through four months beyond its date) that will ring in creativity, fun, romance and adventure. Be ready to be open-minded. The more flexible you are the more you are bound to learn and experience.
(February 13th-March 13th)
April begins with an intense full moon that is sure to leave you with many questions. Mystery and intrigue will be the key words. Since this year has been predominantly focused on your partnerships and love life, I wouldn’t be surprised if the new moon moved those issues even more to the fore. The rest of the month will center on your domestic situation (which may or may not include your love life). Either way, things will intensify in the home. Be prepared to see your passion for your family or dwelling increase. Also, the eclipse towards the end of the month ushers in a new communication phase. April will however test you on this front, with misunderstandings and such, just to get you off on a strong foot.
(March 14th-April 13th)
The things that you possess will become of key importance this month. Think about it, do you feel that your possessions are made up of your friends, your home, your finances, your lovers? Or it could be that you begin to question your values. Do you value the same things now you once did? The past will welcome these questions in with its own flair for the dramatic. Despite problems (coming from others) with communication, you will be ready and willing to go beyond your normal capacity for talk. You will want to understand those in your immediate vicinity with the curiosity that only Sherlock Holmes could inspire. This is the perfect preliminary step towards a new phase that will begin on the 19th with an eclipse in your second house. In the spring and summer you will most certainly have the opportunity for financial growth, but also to create a whole new set of values.
(April 14-May 14)
“Oops, I put my foot in my mouth again.” That’s a phrase you might as well get used to saying. You see, in April, Mercury, planet of communication will be in your first house, which always gives the potential for extreme verbal and communicative snafus. You should be especially mindful of miscommunications that stem from jealousy. With Mars and Venus running so close together in your house of security and possessions, the green-eyed monster may take over. If you are able to look at all of this as a comedy of errors or a great twist in a reality TV show you will fare fantastically in the late spring. That’s because you have an opportunity to completely reinvent yourself when an eclipse happens in the house of “you.” Perhaps it is your mistakes and flaws that will make you so endearing to others as the year progresses.
(May 15-June 14)
Get ready for a totally galactic, psychic, weirdo coinky-dink month. During the first week of April, a full moon in your house of fun taps into the zany aspect of your chart. You will be at your most wickedly funny and entertaining. Hey, with the added bonus of Mars and Venus dancing around in the very house that you own, you’re the life of the party. You may have to do a little cleaning up after yourself and your guests but you’ll be in such good spirits that you won’t really mind. With an eclipse (on the 19th) and Mercury retrograde in your house of the subconscious and secrets towards the latter half of the month expect diving inspiration, intervention and coincidence to come to you. You need not look far, but maybe you should keep a dream journal.
(June 15-July 15)
As the month begins you will see a career matter clarified. A decision will be made, a truth illuminated, a project ended or a project begun. Expect old contacts and acquaintances to resurface throughout the month to help you with this said career matter in some way, whether consciously or unconsciously. With Mars and Venus where they are in your chart, chances are that it will be the latter. Your intuition will be turned “up to 11.” Chances are that you’ll be thinking of someone or something and it will miraculously appear in your life. Hidden messages will abound. Another highlight of the month is a new moon eclipse on the 19th in your house of friendships and group associations. Perhaps one of the old contacts that resurfaces in your life now will introduce you to a whole new scene of people or an association that can help you with your work matters. If it’s not this month, fear not, the eclipse cycle lasts at least two more months, ensuring that valuable associations will abound in your life.
(July 16-August 16)
The operative word this month is “career.” And if you happen to have a career that involves anything foreign, publishing, publicity or higher education, look out because the month will start with a real BANG. With an eclipse in your 10th house on the 19th, a new career phase is definitely in the making. Expect to see it grow through the next three months. By summer you should be knee deep in it. Your best contacts, the ones that will really catapult you onto the next level, will come from your past projects and alliances. With Mars and Venus cycling together in your social 11th house throughout the month, parties, old friends and associations will be a big part of your month. It’s definitely not the time to stay in and be the hermit. Get out there and mingle. It’s your chance to take your crack at the big time.
(August 17-September 16)
With Jupiter in your home this year along with several other positive opens this could very well be a time of great financial gain for you. This month, particularly, career matters will intensify. You will be on fire and there will be no stopping you. Early on in the month a certain financial cycle will come to an end. You know what that means? That means that there’s room for a new beginning where finances are concerned. This will hold especially true if you are currently attempting to do something larger than life. That means it could be a project that is international, something that gets out to a lot of people and/or something that involves teaching something to many people. If you haven’t yet begun this project, do so as of May 1st, after the eclipse and when mercury is direct allowing for unfettered access.
(September 17-October 17)
The beginning of April is the culmination of last month’s partnership focused cycle. As a result of entering into or deepening a partnership you will learn a thing or two about yourself early in the month. I have a hunch that this will be a positive thing. It will strongly expand your horizons. It’s as if, before you were going through your life with blinders on and now suddenly you can see the whole vista. An eclipse on the 19th will launch a new phase of intimacy or a level of trust that involves finances. You could be buying something with your partner (a house, a yacht-if this was the eighties-or perhaps investing in a business). Another great possibility that ties in to the horizon expansion of your 9th house would be that you take a trip with your sweetie and explore foreign lands together. Either way, get ready to get close.
(October 18-November 15)
This month, an old psychological matrix is exposed or destroyed paving path for a relationship to blossom. Your old routines are challenged and emotional backwash must be cleared. That’s because, on April 19th an eclipse will grace your house of relationships. At the same time, with Mercury retrograde in your house of relationships, if there are any issues or fears from past partnerships that might make it difficult to move forward you will have an opportunity to deal with them now. Chances are, if the relationship begins this month, that it will be a pre-existing situation. It could be someone from your past or maybe an existing relationship will deepen and go on to the next level. Whatever it is, with Mars and Venus in your house of deepest intimacies, whatever you can’t communicate verbally will be expressed sexually or psychically.
(November 16-December 15)
You’ve been a lot more of a social, personable, cuddly, warm creature since last month’s new moon on the 20th. At the beginning of April this sees you at your best with adoring fans surrounding you during the full moon period. And, get ready, because April is also a month when your partnerships will heat up tremendously. This is because Mars and Venus will be running amuck in your 7th house of relationships. I wouldn’t expect to see anyone new pop into your life, as this is all taking place during a mercury retrograde period. Whoever you choose to align yourself romantically with will be someone you already know. It could also be that an existing relationship will reach new heights of passion. The eclipse on the 19th is there to remind you that the spring is a good time to do spring-cleaning and start a whole new routine (perhaps this routine involves this saucy person you’re cavorting with).
(December 16th-January 14th)
While this month may not be the most exciting one you’ll experience all year, treasure it because it is the sort of launching pad for magic in the middle of the year. April will be more about establishing new routines, tying up loose ends of a work related situation (early in the month) and re-hashing some old creative ideas that never made it past the drawing board. Fear not, the eclipse in your fantastically fun and limitless fifth house (on the 19th) will ensure that the late spring and summer are filled with wonder. And, if you happen to be someone who wants to populate the world, it would also be a great time to try to have a child, as the stars will be on your side.
