 (4:29) The disco tune “More more more” is the mantra of the United States and more specifically Los Angeles. For our meth-fueled citizenry it’s a “constantly expanding universe.” Behold the gym-bo’s, tanorexics and full-time players who make it all happen–the More-mons.

 (4:17) The road trip, vacation sex, the dead Indian by the highway…Isn’t it time you took a short guided trip through all-too-familiar territory? Jim Morrison, the i-Ching and David Bowie all concur.

CNN has reported that Vice President Dick Cheney will serve as “acting president” (not to be confused with Reagan) briefly while Bush is anesthetized for a colonoscopy. The headline on CNN reads: “Cheney to be in charge during Bush coloscopy,” which makes it sound like a Scott Baio sit-com, “Cheney in Charge.” Ergo (in my mind) Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (third in line for command) is currently the Vice President, making me think of a Tony Danza sit-com. To amend the Warhol quote, in America, guess everyone’s Vice President for 15 minutes (or in this case hours).

 (3:56) My childhood treehouse fantasy (currently an adult treehouse-office fantasy) is revived by flipping through the pages of the photographic book, “Treehouses of the World.”

 (4:17) It’s romantic to climb a mountain in Tibet to meet with a bearded spiritual guide. Personally, I resonate more with American shaman–of a slightly more accessible variety who survived the acid wash of the 60s and Vietnam, man. My holy trinity of sagacious self-helpers and freewheelin’ philosophes consists of Wayne Dyer, Dr. Andrew Weil and Leonard Shlain.

 (3:58) June was anything but its usual gloomy self…a little more bizarre and Lynchian than usual. And so summer swelter has beckoned the everyday surreal in the land of dreams and illusions. Duchamps (and Duchovny) would be proud.
