This is my photo of the day, an awe- (and anxiety-) inspiring mega-model of the Shanghai of the future, in 2020. Adding this to my recent Shanghai’d post, you would think I should be earning kick-backs from the Shanghai Board of Tourism (hint hint). Anyhow, this model of the 20 million + Chinese metropolis spans over 1000 square feet. What would really make it true to form would be a machine pumping out led-based paint fumes and black smog (which I can attest to having experienced–and inhaled–firsthand on a recent-ish trip).
