The Museum of Ancient Chinese Sex...a.k.a. Ancient Chinese Secret

China's oldest dildo has found a warm, cozy home away from home, at the Museum of Ancient Chinese Sex in a little canal-lined town in Eastern China by the name of Tongli. The 2nd century copper, gold-covered phallus stands erect in a glass case of one of the museum's exhibitions entitled, "The Popularity of the Dildo in Ancient China." Apparently, dildos were not just tolerated but encouraged, especially for wealthy men with the thankless task of satisfying many concubines. Before the days of Viagra, they were another way for a man to perform his husbandly duties.

Among the other erotic curios on display in the unusual museum is a 17th century wooden 'sex pillow,' once used to prop a woman up for deep penetration positions. The "Ancient Chinese Porno" wing features sculptures, drawings and ceramic tiles adorned with saucy pictorials, some of which veer into the realm of the surreal and, well, kind of gross. On one tile, a man looks on as his lady friend is plundered by a raging tiger-an animal that symbolizes strength in Chinese culture. And Tony the Tiger thought he was a legend.
